The Derby walk 2009 links

Why choose these three charities to benefit from the Derby walk 2009. Well the answer’s quite straight forward really. Every time I have a bet or just watch a race for fun either a horse or jockey literally put their life on the line for my entertainment, just looking back to the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket shows how dangerous this sport can be to both horse and jockey and that’s just the flat, the jumps boys and horses have it even harder. The jockeys need looking after when injured and the horses need looking after when they retire and so The Injured Jockeys fund and Greatwood home for retired horses fit the bill perfectly, although so do many others. The third charity you don’t need to be a racing fan to understand. The Starlight foundation brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children. The foundation grants wishes and entertains children with fun and laughter in every hospital and hospice throughout the UK. Happy children respond better to treatment and each year Starlight helps over half a million children to forget their illness and simply have a bit of fun. Anyone who saw the little Princess presenting the prize for the sprint at Epsom on the 22nd cannot have been failed to be moved by the occasion, this is what Starlight does, an extraordinary charity that makes everybody feel good. So here are the links to Starlight children’s foundation, The Injured Jockeys fund and Greatwood home for retired horses. Also included is another link to Just Giving .com. On all of these sites it is possible to donate via paypal, debit card or credit card. Please view the sites and see the good that they do.

Many thanks
